Children's Day, also known as Tango-no Sekku, is t Children's Day, also known as Tango-no Sekku, is traditionally considered a boys' festival. While the Girls' Festival on March 3, the Dolls' Festival, is celebrated with gorgeous dolls from Heian-era picture scrolls, Tango-no Sekku is celebrated with Kabuto helmet worn by samurai. These days, the festival is celebrated separately for men and women to avoid gender discrimination.
