Japanese Traditional Maternity Girdle “Misuzu Obi” given the invocation of SUITENGU Shrine
Japanese expecting mothers start wearing a girth on the first dog day of 5 months pregnant as an ancient tradition for easy childbirth for years.
SUITENGU Shrine is at Nihonbashi in Tokyo and known for providing benefits regarding easy childbirth, prayers for children, and preventing drowning (There were a lot of babies who died for drowing in years past). Established in 1818.
Suitengu is just finished renovation and newly opened April 8, 2016. In Japan it says refreshed shrine has a burst of power.

Lucky dog figure is a symbol of maternity as dog has very easy delivery. Fukuinu wears Kago (basket) on its head. Kago means “Bless” in Japanese. Kago and Dog also can make a Kanji character 「笑」 which means “laugh”.
